Annie and Robert will share here experience
Visit with them their favorite sites!

First of all , Rocamadour, the sacred city, clinging to the rocky cliffs above the canyon of the Alzou stream impressed them much by its verticality as well as by the fine grouping of its religious buildings architecture.
All around the site they found various places to go to with their grand children

Then, shut-in in its fortified defensive walls, there is Martel, the city of the 7 towers,
Annie and Robert liked its Palais de la Raymondie, its beautiful houses, its Gothic church and its 18th century covered market.
“Le Truffadou”, a touristic steam train starting from Martel station, is much appreciated by children and adults alike.

To Annie and Robert, visiting Sarlat is a must. The city enjoys a remarkable Renaissance architecture and an harmonious display of stony roofs. Wandering through the city, you'll find here a small square, there a fountain, or when looking up, a wooden gallery, or again a magnificent stony staircase in the backyard of a café.
In the summertime, at night, Annie and Robert find pleasant to stroll through the streets like any other tourists do, and to watch street performers entertain tourists and locals alike.
Sarlat enjoys a rich cultural life all the year round.

There is Souillac too, with its picturesque market on Friday mornings-- especially in the summertime. Twice a month a fair is held close to St Mary's abbey. That church is a jewel of the Romanesque-Byzantine architecture. Oddly enough, its tympan is located inside the nave.
Close to the Abbey, the Automaton Museum delighted Annie and Robert's grand children.

Finally they selected Carennac, a beautiful village nestling among the trees on the river Dordogne banks. The village has kept its medieval outlook. Its Romanesque church sports a beautiful porch with an historiated tympan. The cloister and the superb entombment are well-worth seeing.
